History
For over a century, Hazleton Casting Company's 2-½ acre facility in Hazleton, Pennsylvania has been providing the
Pump Manufacturing and Material Handling industries worldwide with specialty alloy casting - including hastelloy, stainless steel, steel, and other corrosion resistance metals.
In the early 1900s, Mr. Otto Haentjens founded the Barrett Haentjens and Company in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to provide cast pump components. During his career, Mr. Haentjens patented a number of designs, which have become world standards.
World-renowned pump manufacturer, Warman International, purchased the specialty alloy foundry in
1995 and it became known as Hazleton Pumps, Inc. The foundry again changed hands in January 2000 when The Weir Group purchased Warman International and renamed the company Weir Hazleton
casting operations.
In June 2003, Michael J. Leib, President of Hazleton
Casting and Machine Company and the newly formed corporation, Hazleton Casting Company, announced the acquisition of Weir Hazleton Pumps.
Hazleton Casting Company operates as a separate corporation from Weatherly Casting and Machine Company approximately 10 miles away. The relationship between the two corporations gives existing customers the opportunity to buy an expanded range of materials including Carbon Steel, Low Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, and special materials.
Hazleton Casting provides flagship alloys for the most demanding industrial settings. Serving mining, power generation and other heavy-duty industries,
Hazleton continues to be the preferred choice for high hardness and durable castings.
From its beginnings in 1900, Hazleton Casting and Machine Company has grown into a specialized jobbing foundry. The
Hazleton name represents pride, skill and quality. We bring this experience and expertise to Hazleton Casting Company.
