Our people
“I’ve been at Weatherly Casting for 50 years. I’ve made more castings than I can count, and I can say that we honestly try to satisfy the customer each and every time.”
Frank Peiser, Weatherly
Molder
“I make pumps, impellers, liners, and other metal castings. I’ve been here since 1968 and I can tell you that my work gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Everyone here has to be responsible for quality, and this company puts the customer first.”
Eugene Nitka, Kelayres
Grinder
“I’ve been at Weatherly Casting for three and a half years, and I was a machinist somewhere else for six years. I run the CNC machine, which machines the parts with precision to low tolerances. Quality and safety are the first things I think of on the job.”
Jeff Zavitsky, Junedale
Journeyman machinist
“Before I came here four years ago, I worked at another company. This is a nice place to work. They put a lot of emphasis on quality. It’s very important. You have to stick to the engineering of the job and to the plans. These are parts the customers are ordering, so quality is most important. I feel every job here is important.”
Jonathan Darraugh, Weatherly
Machinist
“When I was 15 ½ or 16, I came here to cut the grass or paint, do little jobs. When I turned 18, they offered me a job and I took it. That was 15 years ago. I’ve seen how Weatherly Casting takes pride in it’s work. I take pride in my job. My grandfather worked here for about 30 years, and I’m keeping up a tradition.”
Carl Schweitzer, Weatherly
Molder
“I’ve been working here for 10 years. The guys at Weatherly Casting work well together. We all pull together to get the job done – and get it done right.”
Harold Bowman, Lehighton
Molder
“I started working at Hazleton Casting 22 years ago as a laborer sweeping up sand on the floor. I was a grinder here, and I also poured metal. But I’ve been a mold maker for 20 years now. When you make a mold, you can never be sure how it’s going to turn out until it’s cast. When I see the finished product, it’s rewarding.”
Donald Stefanick, Drums
Journeyman Molder
“When I started here, I worked as a laborer in the cleaning room. I loaded and unloaded castings. That was 34 years ago. I’m a coremaker now. Specifically, I make impellers. It’s detailed work and it takes precision. I’m proud of the work I did when I look at a finished product.”
Gary Odorizzi, West Hazleton
Journeyman Coremaker
“I’m part of a three-person maintenance team that fixes our cranes, our machinery, and furnaces. I’ve been doing that for about five years now. It’s a tough job, but it’s a good job and an important job. If we don’t do our jobs, the machinery won’t run. We take pride in keeping the plant up and running.”
Andy Kokiko, Hazleton
Maintenance Mechanic
“I’ve been here for 31 years, so I’ve seen many changes here. What hasn’t changed? Our quality. I’ve been a grinder for all 31 years I’ve been here. It’s a hard, dirty job, but it’s a rewarding job when you complete a tough job. I only see pieces of a job, but I know those pieces are important parts of the final product.”
Phil Otter, West Hazleton
Grinder
“I was out of high school and looking for a job when I started here. That was 36½ years ago, and I still come in here and try to do the best I can do. I try to be conscious of the customer. I feel good when I see one of my finished products.”
Bernard Olexa, Jeanesville
Journeyman Molder
“I’ve worked at Weatherly Casting since 1974 and I worked in different areas here. You really have to give the customer what they want. That’s important to us, and that’s why we get so much repeat business.”
Francis Harkins, Beaver Meadows
Journeyman coremaker
“It's a hard job, but I like it. It is a nice place to work.”
Jaroslaw Trusiewicz, Hazleton
